Most famous for working on the Killzone series of sci-fi first-person shooters, developer Guerrilla Games were finally let off the leash in 2017 to create their own original PlayStation exclusive IP. The result of that was Horizon: Zero Dawn, a post- post-apocalyptic open-world game where players take on the role of protagonist Aloy who must take on a swathe of different robot dinosaurs.
At her disposal is a whole range of different weapons and accessories, including her trusty bow that can be loaded up with various ammunition types to have the greatest possible effect on enemies. You may wish to lay down traps in the hopes of tripping them up or try to pull them down yourself by anchoring them to the ground. All this you can do while dodging, rolling and sprinting, hiding in foliage and being patient if you ever want to perform an instant takedown.
Aloy will continue to grow stronger as the campaign progresses, laying waste to any separatist faction standing in the way of her getting at the heart of the central mystery. Who is Aloy’s mother? What is the Zero Dawn? And why is 31st century Earth now dominated by giant robot dinosaurs? Most of these answers are dished out throughout this 18-25-hour campaign, with there being enough of a tease for the upcoming PlayStation 5 sequel Horizon: Forbidden West.
